In-Office Sinus Procedures With Our In-Office Sinus CT Scanner

We offer advanced in-office sinus procedures designed to provide lasting relief from chronic nasal and sinus conditions without the need for traditional surgery. Using our state-of-the-art in-office sinus CT scanner, we can accurately evaluate your nasal and sinus anatomy, identify the source of your symptoms and create a personalized treatment plan, including minimally invasive procedures if necessary. Those include:

Balloon Sinuplasty For Chronic Sinusitis

Balloon sinuplasty is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat chronic sinusitis and recurring sinus infections. During treatment, a small balloon catheter is inserted into blocked sinus passages and gently inflated to restore normal drainage and airflow. Because no tissue or bone is removed, recovery is typically faster and more comfortable than traditional sinus surgery. At Atreus Medical & Surgical Associates, we utilize advanced in-office sinus CT scanning to evaluate your sinus anatomy and determine whether balloon sinuplasty may provide lasting relief from chronic sinus symptoms.

Cryotherapy For allergic Rhinitis With ClariFix®

ClariFix® is a minimally invasive, in-office treatment for chronic runny nose, postnasal drip and rhinitis symptoms. Using targeted cryotherapy (cold therapy), this procedure treats the nerves inside the nose that can trigger excessive mucus production and drainage. Performed comfortably under local anesthesia, ClariFix® requires no incisions and little downtime. Many patients experience lasting relief from chronic nasal symptoms and reduced dependence on medications. We first use in-office sinus CT scanning to accurately diagnose the source of your symptoms and determine if ClariFix® is right for you.

Nasal Airway Remodeling For Nasal Airway Obstruction With LATERA®

The LATERA® Absorbable Nasal Implant is an innovative treatment for nasal valve collapse, a common cause of chronic nasal congestion and difficulty breathing through the nose. This small implant is placed inside the nasal sidewall to provide support and prevent airway collapse during breathing. Your body gradually absorbs the implant while your nose develops long-term structural support. Performed in our office with local anesthesia, LATERA® offers a minimally invasive alternative to traditional nasal surgery and may help patients breathe easier, sleep better and improve daily comfort.

Nasal Airway Remodeling For Nasal Airway Obstruction With VivAer®

VivAer is a non-surgical, in-office procedure designed to improve breathing by treating nasal airway obstruction. Using low-temperature radiofrequency energy, VivAer gently remodels tissues inside the nose to open narrowed nasal passages and improve airflow. The procedure requires no incisions, implants or tissue removal and is completed under local anesthesia with minimal downtime. Results include long-lasting relief from chronic congestion, improved sleep quality and easier breathing during exercise and daily activities.

Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) For Severe Sinus Disease

Dr. Boxwell may recommend Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) for patients with severe or persistent sinus disease that has not responded to medications or minimally invasive treatments. This advanced procedure uses a thin, lighted endoscope and specialized instruments to remove blockages, improve sinus drainage and restore normal airflow while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible. Before recommending surgery, Dr. Boxwell performs a comprehensive evaluation using our advanced in-office sinus CT scanner to precisely identify the source of your symptoms and determine whether endoscopic sinus surgery is the most appropriate treatment.

Radiofrequency Treatment For Chronic Rhinitis With RhinAer®

If you’re struggling with a chronic runny nose or postnasal drip that hasn’t improved with medication, radiofrequency treatment for chronic rhinitis with RhinAer® may help. This innovative, minimally invasive procedure targets the nerves responsible for triggering excessive nasal drainage to provide long-lasting relief from your symptoms. Performed right here in our office with minimal downtime, RhinAer® can help you breathe more comfortably, so you can get back to what’s important to you and spend less time frustrating symptoms.

Sinus Conditions We Treat

Having trouble effectively breathing through your nose? If you find yourself dealing with constant postnasal drip, chronic stuffiness or more, you may have a chronic nasal or sinus condition and could benefit from our in-office sinus procedures. We diagnose and treat a variety of sinus conditions, which affect your ability to breathe comfortably from your nose, including:

  • Sinusitis: The sinuses are the hollow cavities that fill with mucus to help filter the air that you breathe into your nose. Infections occur in the sinuses when blockages prevent them from draining normally, leading to pressure, congestion, yellow discharge and cough. Chronic sinusitis occurs when symptoms last for over 12 days and is more likely to occur in people with conditions such as asthma or allergic rhinitis who already have inflamed sinuses.

  • Nasal congestion: Nasal congestion is often described more simply as a “stuffy nose” and happens when the inside of the nose is irritated. This irritation can cause related symptoms such as inflammation, swelling and an overproduction of mucus, making it difficult to breathe properly through the nostrils. If it’s not treated properly, it can lead to other related conditions such as sinusitis, ear infections or nose polyps.

  • Chronic nasal drainage: Your nose produces mucus which you normally swallow without noticing. Postnasal drip refers to excess mucus build up that drips down the back of the throat. It is also accompanied by feeling like you need to cough it up as well as the need to clear your throat and can also cause sore throat.
  • Chronic cough: Chronic cough is one that is present for over eight weeks and won’t go away. When caused by personal drip, coughing occurs when mucus pools in the back of the throat. Other causes of chronic cough include asthma, GERD or a lung disease.
