What To Expect During Treatment
When you come to Atreus Medical & Surgical Associates with concerns about chronic rhinitis, you can expect a thorough initial consultation. Dr. Boxwell will review your medical history and perform a thorough nasal exam. He’ll also take time to discuss your symptoms, answer your questions and determine whether you’re a candidate for radiofrequency treatment for chronic rhinitis.
If radiofrequency treatment for chronic rhinitis is recommended, you’ll return to our office for your procedure. We’ll first use a local anesthetic to keep you comfortable throughout treatment. Then, a small treatment device will be inserted into your nose to deliver controlled radiofrequency energy. You may experience a small amount of discomfort, but the procedure is quick, typically taking under an hour.
After your procedure, you’ll return home the same day and can resume most normal activities quickly. You may experience mild congestion or tenderness at first, but these symptoms typically improve over the following several weeks as your nose heals.
